Papers of playwright and actor Charles “Buck” Roberts from Durham, N.C. The collection consists of scripts authored by Roberts, photographs of productions, scrapbooks from his youth, and programs and press releases from performances.

Unbound, undated notes which appear to be from Steiner originally filed an exterior folder titled "Louch." Steiner's notes discuss A.R. Louch's "Explanation and Human Action," Dobb's "Feudalism and Growth of Towns," and "Competititon and Distribution" (author unclear).
J. B. Matthews (1894-1966) was a Methodist missionary, college professor, author, lecturer, and prominent conservative spokesman. Collection consists of correspondence, memoranda, statements, speeches, reprints, clippings, broadsides, newsletters, press releases, petitions, and other printed material, chiefly 1930-1969. The principal focus of the collection relates to the work and research of Matthews and his associates in the area of anti-communism, particularly in connection with Matthews' role as Director of Research for the Special Committee on Un-American Activities of the U.S. House of Representatives (1938-1945), Executive Director of the Permanent Subcommittee on Government Operations of the U.S. Senate (1953), and a consultant for John A. Clements Associates. Many of the organizations, newspapers, periodicals, and persons represented in the collection have various leftist, socialist, communist, radical, or pacifist (especially anti-Vietnam War) connections. Individuals represented in the files include Ralph Abernathy, Bella Abzug, Roy Cohn, John Foster Dulles, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Michael Harrington, Alger Hiss, J. Edgar Hoover, Jesse Jackson, John F. Rabbi Israel Gerber was a Reform Rabbi and led congregations in Dothan, Alabama, North Carolina, and in Virginia. He served in the U.S. Army and held a PhD from Boston University in the Psychology of Religion. He authored six books and wrote numerous newspaper and magazine articles, including book reviews for the Charlotte Observer. Gerber was a sought-after lecturer because of his extensive biblical knowledge. The Israel Gerber Papers span the years 1920 to 2009 and primarily document public Gerber’s life, with the bulk of the materials related to his sermons, writings, and teachings. Also included is a small amount of correspondence, including letters to and from Harry Golden and letters to the editors of various newspapers, and two scrapbooks that document Gerber’s personal and professional life.
Richard Deming (1915-1983) was an American crime and non-fiction writer. His papers primarily contain manuscripts by Deming, including short stories, novels, t.v. scripts and screenplays, publisher's pitches, along with plays, an article, poetry, and one letter. Some of the novels are written under the pseudonyms or with coauthors. All manuscripts are typescript, except for an incomplete, handwritten novel. The papers also include incomplete runs of mixed serials, all featuring published writing by Deming. These include scattered or single issues of each title and some duplicates. Items with dates past Deming's death in 1983 feature reprints as well as marketing materials for a novel. The collection also includes poetry and a novel-length manuscript written by Richard Deming's uncle, Rollin Gregg Deming.
