Collection contains audio of sermons delivered at religious and ceremonial services in the Duke University Chapel by various ministers, professors, and guests of the University. Notable speakers include Howard Wilkinson, James Cleland, Waldo Beach, Thor Hall, Charlene Kammerer, Jon Laidlaw, Will Willimon, Robert Young and others. The collection consists of 7" reel-to-reel audio tapes, audiocassette tapes, VHS tapes, and digital audio tapes of sermons, programs and Lenten meditations delivered in Duke Chapel from 1954 to ongoing.

Kristine Stiles is the France Family Professor of Art, Art History & Visual Studies at Duke University. Her main field of research is contemporary art with a focus on experimental practices, as well as representations of destruction, violence, and trauma in art. The collection includes Stiles' personal and family papers; materials documenting her study of art and artists, particularly contemporary and modern artists; writings, talks, projects, and teaching files; and other materials including correspondence, photographs, and audiovisual items. Together, the materials in this collection document Stiles' study and teaching of art and art history; her scholarly interests in violence, destruction, and trauma in art; her relationships with artists around the world; and her personal life. Artists represented in this collection include Chris Burden, Lynn Hershman, Allan Kaprow, Gustav Metzger, John Latham, Jean-Jacques Lebel, Yoko Ono, Raphael Montañez Ortiz, Dan and Lia Perjovschi, Carolee Schneemann, Wolf Vostell, and many more.

David E. Price is a professor emeritus of political science at Duke University and was a Democratic congressman from North Carolina's Fourth District from 1987-1995 and 1997-2023. Collection documents the scholarly and political career of Price, including his days as a graduate student in the 1960s, his tenure as a political science professor and Democratic Party staff member, and, finally, his years as a Democratic congressman from North Carolina's Fourth District. Records from Price's political headquarters contain thousands of original documents, handwritten and computer-generated; printed materials such as legislative bills and campaign publicity; and a variety of audiovisual materials, including photographs, some slides, many videos, and audio recordings. The collection is especially rich for researchers interested in the American political party system, the work and life of legislators, North Carolina history and government, the North Carolina Democratic and Republican parties, the U.S. Congress, its committee structure, the Hunt Committee, and the broader legislative process. Other materials document political campaigns, notably David Price's own congressional campaigns and Al Gore's senatorial campaign of 1970-1971.

Clare Ellaline Hope Leighton was an English printmaker who immigrated to the United States in 1939. The Clare Leighton Papers date from the mid-twentieth century and include woodblocks, preparatory prints and drawings, engravings, and correspondence related to Leighton's artistic practice.

Ledger of an unknown merchant in New Bern, N.C. Transactions appear chronologically by account holder, and reflect the sale of general merchandise, such as cloth and clothing, food, rum, seed, pitch, tar, and turpentine. Accounts were settled with either cash or goods. Formerly known as Anonymous ledger C, 1767-1776.

Founded in 1864, the J. Walter Thompson Company (JWT) is one of the oldest and largest enduring advertising agencies in the United States. It is headquartered in New York. Collection includes correspondence, track listings, transcriptions, and other printed materials, audio and video cassettes (Betacam SP, VHS and Umatic), DAT, optical media (CDs, DVDs. etc.), 16mm film reels, phonograph records, and computer media. JWT management events documented in the collection include Cannes and Effies Awards submissions, Epcot, Executive Committee, Worldwide Creative Council, speeches and presentations by top managers as well as interviews undertaken as part of an oral history project at JWT. Offices represented include North America, Europe, Great Britain, India, Asia and Latin America. Main companies include California Lottery, Chase & Sanborn, Chevron, Del Taco, Diageo, Diamond Trading Company (DeBeers), Domino's, Ford, HSBC, Jenny Craig, JetBlue, Kaiser Permanente, Kimberly-Clark, Kodak, Kraft, Lipton, Macy's, Mexicana Airlines, Standard Brands, Trailways, Warner-Lambert, Weight Watchers and Wyeth. This collection includes 39 photographic prints comprising the series Aunties, by Nadia Sablin, the 2014 CDS/Honickman First Book Prize in Photography Award Winner. Aunties is a series of photographs detailing the lives of two unmarried sisters living in a Russian village.

Elaine Katz is a collector of books and ephemera. This collection was created by Katz and contains more than 800 cards documenting numerous women's businesses and professions during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries including millinery, dressmaking, and fancy work, as well as many other types of businesses and work. Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture and the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History.

The photographs and papers of documentarian Rob Amberg span the years 1975-2009. The gelatin silver prints and pigmented inkjet color prints in the collection represent three bodies of work: The New Road: I-26 and the Footprints of Progress; The Sodom Laurel Album; and The Vanishing Culture of Agriculture. Amberg focuses primarily on the social life and customs of the rural South, especially in the mountains of his home state of North Carolina. Images range from landscape shots taken before and during construction of an interstate highway in the N.C. mountains, to portraits of individuals and families affected by the changes in rural culture. Images also depict agricultural activies such as tobacco cultivation and dairy cattle farming, as well as work in the poultry industry. He has a special concern for documenting the way in which industrial and economic progress seems to be erasing many aspects of rural culture at the turn of the twenty-first century. Amberg's papers account for the rest of the collection and are organized into five series: Correspondence, Printed Materials, Subject Files, and Writings and Research, and Audio.
