Founded in 1864, the J. Walter Thompson Company (JWT) is one of the oldest and largest enduring advertising agencies in the United States. It is headquartered in New York. Collection consists chiefly of verbatim minutes of a variety of staff meetings held at the New York and Chicago offices of JWT. Also included are advertisements, photographs, articles, and other printed material attached to minutes as background material or supplemental reading for the meetings. A set of subject indexes are included for some of the meeting series. Topics discussed include account histories, case studies and company profiles; activities of international and domestic JWT offices including country profiles; advertising and client relations during a depression; development and use of advertising media (film, outdoor, print, radio, television); general business and economic conditions; market research; new business activity; promotional techniques (coupons, merchandising, retail store displays); the structure and function of various JWT departments; and social trends. The LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) Ephemera Collection consists of pamphlets, flyers, t-shirts, and other items that document the activism, celebration, education, harassment, survival, and daily life of the LGBTQ community in the United States. Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.

Life Savers are a brand of hard and soft candies first produced in 1912, currently owned by Mars. Collection consists of approximately 150 items: matted advertising, display and promotional designs; black and white photographs; and negatives that depict a variety of campaigns to market Life Savers in early and mid-century United States. Included are photographs of models in various poses; candy displays (including displays of competitors such as Curtiss's Baby Ruth/Butterfinger and Pine Bros. Glycerin Tablets); celebrities posing with the candy in endorsement or other promotional campaign; street vendors (Life Savers Sampler Girls); and images of placements of the candy in film productions. Celebrities include Ann Rutherford, Edgar Bergen, George McManus, George Raft, Jack Benny, Lou Costello, Maggie Jiggs and Virginia Mayo. Images produced by a number of prominent photographers and agencies, including Acme Newspictures, Ewing Galloway, General Outdoor, Guy Gillette, Hyman Fink, Keystone View, McArthur Advertising, Shigeta-Wright, and the Vacuum Candy Machinery Company. This collection contains letters and papers of John Caldwell Calhoun Newton, a Methodist minister and missionary to Japan, concerning his education at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Kentucky Military Institute, and Johns Hopkins University; his experience as a minister in Kentucky and Virginia; and his career as dean of the theological school at Kwansei Gakuin Union Mission College and Seminary in Kobe, Japan, 1888-1897, and president of that institution, 1913-1923.

Armando Guevara Ochoa (born 1926) is a Peruvian composer, violinist, and director. Manuscripts, photocopies of manuscripts, and ozalid reproductions of scores and parts of Guevara Ochoa's compositions. Several contain performance and editorial markings.

The United States Political Ephemera Collection contains campaign materials on both the national and state levels between the years 1856-2008. Materials are mostly related to the Democratic and Republican parties, but include materials from the American Labor party, Greenback party, League of Women Voters, Libertarian party, National Prohibitionist party, and Socialist party, as well as non-partisan materials. Materials include campaign pamphlets, flyers, form letters, newsletters, press releases, booklets, handouts, newspapers, posters, bumper stickers, and buttons.

Richard Pollay was a professor and curator of the History of Advertising Archives at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. Collection includes slides, correspondence, poetry and short stories, posters and other printed materials. The bulk of materials relate to Pollay's research into advertising for 19th and 20th century patent medicines, traveling sales personnel, as well as support materials for teaching presentations along with a collection of plastic and plush toys representing advertising mascots and spokes-characters. Companies represented include A&W root beer, American Association of Advertising Agencies, Coca-Cola, Dole, Energizer, Harley-Davidson and Kellogg. Acquired as part of the John W. Franco Modigliani (1918-2003) was a Nobel Prize winner and Institute Professor Emeritus (of economics) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This collection primarily documents his professional life through his correspondence, writings and speeches, professional activities, and teaching. It forms part of the Economists' Papers Archive.

Pyschiatrist of Villejuif and Moiselles, France. The collection (300 items; dated 1914-1975) contains the papers of Marcel Montassut, a noted French psychiatrist who worked in the Hôpital Psychiatrique de Villejuif as Médecin-Chef from 1942 to 1960. Montassut's papers are primarily research-oriented and include several of his publications, notes on particular subject areas, and reviews of work in the field of psychiatry. Also present are civil and military documents pertaining to Montassut, as well as correspondence between colleagues, including the noted French psychiatrist Léon Chertok. The bulk of his research is founded in studies on depression, melancholia, and epilepsy. Additionally, the papers include documents related to his professional involvement as interim director at the Centre Neuro-Psychiatrique de Moiselles and as president of the Société Française de Médecine Psychosomatique.

William Morehead was a merchant from Cumberland, Maryland. This collection contains correspondence, account books, bills, receipts, and advertisements, dealing with Morehead's household goods store. Collection also contains letters from firms in Maryland, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, pertaining to the sale, purchase, and shipment of goods, borrowing of money, payment of notes, and other matters.
