The Reproductive Health Ephemera Collection consists of pamphlets, flyers, brochures, booklets, bumper stickers and other items that document the work of organizations concerned with women's reproductive health and reproductive rights, largely in the United States and United Kingdom. Collections contains items from both pro-choice and pro-life organizations. Also includes advertisements and information about products related to birth control and to ideas of vaginal hygiene (such as diaphragms, suppositories, and douching products). Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture and the History of Medicine Collections at Duke University.

This collection includes a number of periodicals produced by different organizations interested in enabling and protecting a women's right to reproductive healthcare. The organizations are: the Mayo Clinic, the American Civil Liberties Union's Reproductive Freedom Project, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and HealthyWomen. Accession (2009-0236) (300 items; 0.6 lin. ft.; dated 1989-2009) includes the following publications: Mayo Clinic Women's Health Resource (Mayo Clinic); Reproductive Freedom News (Center for Reproductive Law and Policy, now known as the Center for Reproductive Rights); Reproductive Rights Update (Reproductive Freedom Project); and the National Women's Health Report (National Women's Health Resource Center). Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.

The Reproductive Rights National Network formed in 1978 in response to the nationwide abortion debate launched by Roe v. Wade. It eventually included about 50 feminist organizations and devoted itself to making reproductive choices available for all women. R2N2 campaigned for safe abortions; for the right of gay couples to adopt and raise children; and against the sterilization of poor or unfit mothers. It disbanded in 1984. Collection includes an International Planned Parenthood Federation report (Spring 1970); Reproductive Rights National Network newsletters and other coverage of the abortion debate; and administrative materials from the operations of the R2N2, including proposed platforms and policies, clippings and testimonials, and other miscellaneous notes and material. Subjects include abortion rights and protests; birth control; women's sterilization, particularly of Hispanic women; and gay and lesbian rights. Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.

The Research Council, also called the University Council on Research, was established at Duke University in 1934, to support faculty research by providing professional travel funding, publication subvention, and research grants. Until 1978, it prepared the annual bibliography of faculty publications (no longer published). The Research Council was later renamed the Arts & Sciences Committee on Faculty Research. The Research Council Records include reports, minutes, memoranda, correspondence, summaries, and faculty publications lists (1934-1976), pertaining to research projects and support for Duke University faculty. Materials range in date from 1925 to 1992. English.

The Residential College Task Force was created by President H. Keith H. Brodie in 1985 for the purpose of looking at the establishment of a new living option. The collection contains minutes and other task force records, including correspondence, memoranda, financial records, brochures, application forms, floor plans, and other materials.

The Residential Life Reference Collection contains files of reports, clippings, handbooks, and other materials concerning residential life at the University. This collection was compiled from a variety of sources by the University Archives for use in reference and research.

The Residential Program Review began in 1998 to focus on residential improvements for upperclass students at Duke University. This administrative group oversaw the building of a new dormitory, the West-Edens Link, on Duke's West Campus, and continues to be involved in improving residential life on campus. Types of materials in the collection include reports, architectural drawings, proposals, surveys, correspondence, and minutes. Major subjects include architecture, living and social space, fraternities and sororities, residential policy, and residential issues of concern on the campus, such as alcohol abuse. English.

A non-profit organization, located in Durham, N.C., founded in 1977 for the purpose of providing support for women in ministry, persons of faith working for justice in the South, and religious organizations that address women's needs. The records are relevant to the study of the relationships among religion, politics, and society, particularly how women in ministry have confronted a number of social issues facing the South. Information pertaining to the Equal Rights Amendment, sexism, economic justice and poverty, gays and lesbians in the Church, feminism, abortion, racism, and rural ministry is included. Also includes materials on retreats and conferences, some organized by the Resource Center, which focused on many of the issues above and other concerns, including gender and language, spirituality, medical care, housing and homelessness, women in ministry, and women in the workplace.

Businessman, farmer, promoter of the cotton industry, from Paris (Lamar County), Texas. Chiefly Bowen's business papers, consisting of correspondence, clippings, pamphlets, and printed material and volumes. A major portion of the collection concerns agriculture, especially cotton, including the marketing and promotion of cotton and Bowen's relationship with a number of local and national agricultural organizations. Also includes information about J. P. Morgan and the formation of U.S. Steel Corp., labor and labor legislation, U.S. politics and government, European affairs after World War I, prohibition, and food and drug legislation. The collection also contains the diaries of Adelaide Marie Bowen, Reuben's daughter, from 1918-1921.
