One photo circa 1930 depicts doctors gathered in medical lab, and reads: "Tuesday morning conference in the old autopsy room...the material used at these conferences during 1930 was brought to Duke and formed the basis of the origin of Duke collection [used?] for the first class in Pathology in 1931."

Horine is shown in black-and-white photo with three other men, one of whom is most likely Henry Schumman, rare book dealer, to whom the image is inscribed, June 1948. They are examining the publication Pioneer Life in Kentucky, written by Daniel Drake and published by Schumann in 1948.
