Marty Rosenbluth was Amnesty International's area specialist for Israel/Occupied Territories in the 1980s. He is also an independent documentary film-maker. The Marty Rosenbluth papers include publications, reports, case studies, press-releases, mailings, communications, leaflets, audiovisual recordings, and ephemera created by Palestinian and Israeli human rights groups. These groups include Al-Haq (Law in the Service of Man), Badil, B'Tselem, Hamoked (Center for the Defense of the Individual), Public Committee Against Torture in Israel, The West Bank Data Base Project, and Alternative Information Center. The papers also feature materials from Palestinian trade unions and United States-based solidarity groups, as well as unofficial, locally published first-person reports of events and conditions in the Occupied Territories.

Collection consists of 80 black-and-white photographs taken by native New Yorker Mel Rosenthal, stemming from two documentary projects. The first documents the destruction by arson of an entire South Bronx neighborhood in New York City in the 1970s, with images of burned-out buildings and inhabitants who were forced to abandon their homes. The second project depicts Arab Americans, including men, women and children of Syrian, Egyptian, Moroccan, Algerian, Jordanian and Palestinian descent, living in New York State during the last decade of the 20th century and the early 2000s. Scenes include images of children, professionals, neighborhood life, and the religious lives of Christians, Muslims, Greek Orthodox, Maronites, Jews and Coptics. The gelatin silver prints measure 11x14 and 16x20 inches. Also included are some publicity items for exhibits and a workshop on documentary photography, and an audiocassette recording of Rosenthal speaking at an exhibit opening in 2004. Acquired as part of the Archive of Documentary Arts at Duke University.

Fannie B. Rosser (1884-1973) was an African American businesswoman from Lynchburg, Virginia, and long-term resident of Durham, North Carolina. Correspondence, legal and financial papers, printed materials, ephemera, and photographs document Rosser's personal relationships and professional activities, including her close ties with female family members and friends; the management of properties in Lynchburg and Durham; personal loans; and her financial investments in stocks and bonds. A series of 114 photographs dates from about 1872-1956 and includes several tintypes and albumen prints of Fannie's grandmother, an ambrotype of an unknown young woman of color, and many albumen and gelatin silver photographs of Rosser's African American family and friends from Lynchburg, Virginia, Durham, N.C., and other places.

Collection consists of a single letter from the Pre-Raphealite poet Christina Rossetti to an unnamed recipient in the publishing industry. She grants him permission to use poems from three of her published collections in an upcoming "Fine Art Book for Christmas 1882." Rossetti states that there should be no variation of the text from the source material, and that she chose those three collections because she personally holds their copyright.

Papers include letters from Ross and from Maude Alice Henry Lafford, possibly Ross's personal secretary, to R.L. Megroz. These letters relate to Ross's literary work. Papers include the typescript of Ross's "Ring of fire" and "Midsummer madness". There are also letters to Megroz from publishers and from the British Broadcasting Company regarding articles and programs on Ross and his work on malaria. Papers include reprints, photos, a copy of Ordinance no. 22 of 1910 and an obituary of Ross from the British Medical Journal.

The Rotary Club of Durham was chartered in 1915 as part of Rotary International, an organization of service clubs. The records from the Rotary Club of Durham include bulletins, committee files, membership cards, board minutes, anniversary projects, photographs, scrapbooks, and other miscellaneous materials relating to the activities and members of the club.

Rotary International was established as a men's service organization in Chicago in 1905. This collection contains records relating to Rotary International, District 7710, which includes counties in central North Carolina. Includes the district's conference programs, conference minutes, executive committee minutes, correspondence, directories, policies and procedures. Also includes information about the district's exchange program and various club histories, including numerous club rosters and club bulletins for the Chapel Hill and Raleigh Rotary Clubs. There are also clippings, newsletters, photographs, and slides related to the organization's activities.

Alvin Roth (born 1951) is a Nobel Prize winner and the Craig and Susan McCaw Professor of Economics at Stanford University. This collection documents his professional life through his correspondence, writings, research, and faculty activities. It was acquired as part of the Economists' Papers Archive.

Two letters and an autograph manuscript, signed, convey Roux's suspicions that the removal of Dr. Remlinger, the French head of the Constantinople branch of the Pasteur Institute, was due to German intrigue. There is also a note to M. Ernst Fritz Katz.
