The Environmentalism Reference Collection contains files of clippings, flyers, announcements, publications, reports and other materials pertaining to environmental matters at the University. This collection was compiled from a variety of sources by the University Archives for use in reference and research.

Revolutionary soldier, lawyer, state legislator, and land speculator, of Litchfield, Connecticut. The papers of Ephraim Kirby consist of correspondence, broadsides, legal papers, bills and receipts pertaining to the Revolutionary War, early settlements west of the Alleghenies and Alabama, land speculation, internal improvements, and U.S. and Connecticut politics. Revolutionary War letters describe life in the Continental Army, the quartermaster disorder, military engagements, including Germantown and the surrender of Cornwallis, and the beginnings of Ephraim Kirby's legal practice. Political correspondence concerns the government of the United States under the Articles of Confederation; the ratification of the Constitution; foreign relations with Great Britain, France, Algiers, and Spain; Madison's resolutions regarding trade and navigation; Jay's Treaty; Whiskey Rebellion; taxation for revenue; the presidential campaigns of 1796 and 1800; Cherokee affairs; politics and patronage in Connecticut; and the repeal of the Judiciary Act of 1801.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Committee (EEOC) was established by President Sanford in April 1970 to monitor the implantation of the University's Affirmative Action Plan. The collection contains minutes, memoranda, copies of affirmative action plans, correspondence, reports, employment and compliance statistics, news articles, and other materials relating to the operations of the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee. The materials in the collection range in date from 1969-1973.

The Equal Rights Amendment is an amendment proposed to the United States Constitution which would seek to guarantee equal rights to all American citizens regardless of their sex. It was first proposed in Congress in 1923 by Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman, and was reintroduced at every congressional session until it was finally passed by the 92nd Congress in 1972. This collection consists of printed materials and circulated literature both supporting and opposing early iterations of the Equal Rights Amendment, largely dating from the 1930s-1940s.

The Erasmus Club was a campus literary society which organized in 1926 for the encouragement of study and research in language and literature, and later, the humanities in general. The collection contains minutes, correspondence, memoranda, students' essays, financial records, announcements and other material. It ranges in date from 1926-1986.

Collection consists of eight black-and-white photographic prints, most of which were taken as part of Breitenbach's work for his Florida Documentary Project, and two copies of the project's exhibit catalog. The gelatin silver prints measure 14 1/8 x 16 7/8 inches, and are almost all portraits of the many types of people living in Florida and the recreation they enjoy or the significant objects and other people in their lives. Individuals include teenagers, college students, deer hunters, Haitian families and other immigrants; and retirees. Acquired as part of the Archive of Documentary Arts at Duke University.

Eric M. and Carol L. Meyers are professors in Duke University's Department of Religion. Throughout their careers, they have conducted archeological digs in relation to their interest in biblical and Judaic studies. The collection contains extensive materials related to several major excavations the pair conducted in Israel from the 1970s to the 1990s. The materials in the collection include binders and notebooks of field notes, charts, maps, and records; notecards; photographs (including slides, prints, and negatives), almost all black-and-white; a few audiovisual items; clippings; some administrative and correspondence files; coins; and drawings of sites and artifacts. There are many electronic files, some of which represent items not present in the collection. Topics include 20th century archaeology and practices; the Sepphoris, Meiron, Khirbet Shema, Nabratein, and Gush Halav excavation sites in Israel, including maps and photographs of the sites; Jewish and Arabic artifacts such as coins and pottery; other ancient artifacts; and religious and biblical studies as they relate to archaeology.

Medical diploma in obstetrics conveyed to Worcester physician Erlin Clarke, from the Lying-In Hospital of Dublin, Ireland, in February 1853. The text of the diploma is in Latin, and bears a red wax seal in a small metal canister on a ribbon. Acquired as part of the History of Medicine Collections at Duke University.
