Thomas Chapin (1957-1998) was a white jazz saxophonist/flutist and composer from Connecticut. Collection includes sheet music, audio recordings, photographs, correspondence, clippings, and other material that document Chapin's life and work.

John Grant Chapman was a lawyer and U.S. Representative from Port Tobacco, Charles County, Maryland, active from the 1820s-1840s. Collection consists chiefly of business letters, combined with a small amount of personal correspondence. The collection includes a number of items relating to Thomas Yates Robey, also from Charles County, Maryland, possibly a relative or business client.

Fred Chappell is an author and a poet, and is a retired English professor from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dabney Stuart is also an author and poet, and is a retired English professor at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Accession (2009-0211) (150 items; 0.6 lin. ft.; dated 1984-2009) consists of Fred Chappell's letters to Dabney Stuart, covering a wide range of topics from personal stories and updates on families to his musings on literature and poetry in general. Chappell frequently offers feedback on Stuart's latest writings, as well as seeks input from Stuart on his own work. Occassional drafts are included for Stuart to read.

Fred Chappell (1936-2024) was an author and poet. He was an English professor at UNC Greensboro for 40 years, and he was the Poet Laureate of North Carolina from 1997 to 2002. Collection consists largely of correspondence and writings by Chappell and others, documenting Chappell's literary career, output, and network.

J. H. Chappell graduated from Duke University in 1926 and was a college athlete. The collection includes Trinity College and Duke University memorabilia, student notebooks, correspondence, photographs and corresponding negatives, and other materials collected by Chappell during his years at Trinity College during its transition to Duke University. The memorabilia and ephemera include class grade reports, athletics events fliers, pins, banners and pennants, and Durham-specific advertising.

Charis Books and More, founded in 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia, is the oldest feminist bookstore in the Southeast. Charis Circle is a non-profit organization founded in July 1996 that furthers the mission of the bookstore by offering free educational and cultural events and programs to the community. This collection documents the daily operations of Charis Books and More and Charis Circle, and the interrelated nature of these two organizations, through the administrative files, financial records, advertising material, photographs, and oral histories. Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.

Charles Leonard Van Noppen (1869-1935) was a publisher, editor, and author, from Greensboro, N.C. The collection contains letters and papers, mostly relating to the projected extension of Samuel A'Court Ashe's book, Biographical history of North Carolina from colonial times to the present (1908-1925). Collection also contains 356 black-and-white photographs and engravings, almost exclusively 19th century portraits of prominent male North Carolinians.

Collection includes correspondence, printed material, and business and financial records created by Charles L. Reinhart and the employees of Charles Reinhart Management, Inc., 1951-2008.
