The Rainbow Triangle Oral History Project was originally conceived in 1996 as a way to document the lives of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) people in the Triangle region in particular and central North Carolina in general. Ian Lekus became the Project Coordinator in 1996 and worked with a varying group of volunteers to acquire resources, conduct interviews, and ensure the preservation and access of the oral histories collected. More than 60 interviews were conducted between 1999 and 2004. The Rainbow Triangle Oral History Collection includes original oral history recordings, transcripts, biographical information on narrators, newsclippings, correspondence, and research materials.

Contains the records of the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, an interdisciplinary degree-granting program for scholars at Duke University. The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies was established around 1968 in an effort to join and strengthen the medieval and renaissance programs at Duke University. Also includes materials of the Committee on Medieval and Renaissance Studies concerning the development of the program, the Journal of Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and the Southeastern Institute of Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Types of materials include correspondence, budgets, newsletters, curriculum planning materials, announcements, reports, and minutes. Major subjects include the Duke University faculty, Journal of Medieval and Renaissance Studies, the Southeastern Institute of Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, university cooperation, renaissance study and teaching, and humanities study and teaching. Materials range in date from 1966 to 1982. English.

The Center for Multicultural Affairs began as the Office of Black Affairs in 1969 to address the needs of the African American student population at Duke University. As the Center for Multicultural Affairs, the department's mission is to foster a welcoming environment, support all students in becoming engaged members of the Duke community, and to promote community engagement. The collection contains a variety of administrative materials, including reports, correspondence, minutes and programs, documenting the directives and activities of the Office of Black Affairs, the Office of Minority Affairs, the Office of Intercultural Affairs, and the Center for Multicultural Affairs. Also included are materials pertaining to the Summer Transitional Program, which was established in 1969 and managed by the Office of Minority Affairs.

The Center for Southern Studies in the Social Sciences and the Humanities was an interdisciplinary center established in 1965 in order to help "organize and systematize existing scholarly interest" in Southern Studies at Duke and elsewhere. Past chairs include Edgar T. Thompson and Thomas H. Naylor. The Center folded in the late 1970s. Collection contains materials pertaining to operation and activities of the Center for Southern Studies in the Social Studies and the Humanities including correspondence, minutes, manuscripts, printed matter, clippings, and other materials. Materials range in date from 1961-1969, with the bulk dates of 1965-1967.

The Central American Solidarity Committee (CASC) was a student organization chartered at Duke University around 1980. CASC was organized in opposition to U.S. policies and activities regarding Central America, especially military aid to Nicaragua, during the early 1980s. The majority of the records are made up of clippings and event flyers and posters, but the records also include correspondence, publications, petitions, bumper stickers, and other materials produced or collected by the Central American Solidarity Committee. The collection also features materials published and distributed by similar groups, such as the Carolina Interfaith Task Force on Central America, the Durham Action Committee on Central America, and the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador, Southeast Region. English.

Construction on Duke University Chapel began in 1930, and the building was dedicated in 1935. The Chapel hosts worship services, concerts, festivals, seminars, study groups, and retreats. The collection contains records relating to the operations and activities of Duke Chapel including administrative records, printed exercise programs and bulletins, transcripts of sermons, marriage and baptismal registries, carillon and carillonneur material, and published material relating to Duke University and the Chapel. University Archives staff must be consulted in order to determine what material is covered by the administrative restriction.

Duke University Chorale formed in 1970 with the merge of the Duke University Men's and Women's Glee Clubs. This collection consists of materials related to Duke Chorale and the Men and Women's Glee Clubs such as historical backgrounds, audio and video recordings, promotional materials, tour itineraries, set lists, correspondence, and photographs.

The Classical Club, founded in 1910, was a social academic club for male students and faculty of Trinity College (now Duke University). Female students joined the club in 1924. The club promoted interest in the language, literature, and art of ancient Greek and Roman cultures. Materials include minutes, constitutions, bylaws, a sketch, calendars, membership lists, correspondence, a draft of a paper, and clippings. Major subjects include Trinity College history, Duke University history, student groups, male college students, study of classical languages and appreciation of classical literature. Materials range in date from 1910 to 1944. English.

The College Organization for General Service (C.O.G.S.) at Duke University organized service activities for women on campus and supported local and national organizations during World War II. C.O.G.S. was active at the Duke University Woman's College from 1940 to 1949. The records of the College Organization for General Service include correspondence, minutes, curriculum guides, reports, clippings, financial records, printed materials, pamphlets, photographs, sheet music, memorabilia, and a scrapbook. The records also contain correspondence of Dean Mary Grace Wilson, faculty advisor to C.O.G.S. Major subjects include Duke University, the Woman's College, Dean Mary Grace Wilson, American Women's Voluntary Service, war training, war employment, female college students, service groups, education during World War II, and campus singing. The Duke University College Republicans, an umbrella organization for all Republicans on campus, was established around 1965. The College Republicans support Republican campaigns at the local, state and national level. Major subjects included are: student activism at Duke University and in North Carolina, the North Carolina Federation of College Republicans, Duke University President Terry Sanford and the International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation controversy, campaign support for Republican candidates, and the general governance of the Duke University College Republicans. Types of materials included are advertisements, clippings, newsletters, meeting minutes and agendas, flyers, correspondence, and miscellaneous writings. The materials in this collection documents the activities of the Duke University College Republicans from about 1965 to 1977. The bulk of the material is from 1973 to 1977. English.
