Cosimo III de' Medici was the penultimate Medici Grand Duke of Tuscany. He reigned from 1670 to 1723, and was the elder son of Grand Duke Ferdinando II. Collection contains a letter on vellum that is a notice from Cosimo III de Medici (Duke of Etruria etc.), to John Philip de Incontris of Florence regarding rents of 222 and 220L in reference to John Philip’s equestrian military preparation. Dated at Florence, 1 February 1705, in the 35th year of the Dukedom of Etruria.

Consists of 75 trade samples and sachets of cosmetics, powders, makeup, soaps and scented paraphernalia. Companies are primarily based in the United States, but Canadian and French perfumers are also represented, including Andrew Jergens, California Perfume (later Avon), Colgate, Frederick Ingram, Furst-McNess, Johnson & Johnson, Larkin, Lehn & Fink and Richard Hudnut. Poems and testimonials on packaging from Ethel Barrymore, Kate Greenaway, Mrs. Leslie Carter and Modjeska. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History and the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.

The Counseling Center offered general psychological counseling to students, faculty, staff, and the Durham community, particularly in the areas of career planning and education, and personal and social development. It also provided students with information about jobs, graduate school, financial aid, foreign study, and employment. Records contain printed material relating to the Counseling Center and its predecessor, the Bureau of Testing and Guidance, including correspondence, reports, memoranda, financial statements, printed matters, and other materials. The materials range in date from 1950-1970.

The Counter Intelligence Investigations Course was held at the Counter Intelligence Corps School in Fort Holabird, Maryland, in the 1950s. Collection contains an assortment of teaching materials including courses on Interrogation, Identification of Soviet Armed Forces Insignia and Rank, Profiling, Sabotage, Raids & Searches, Study of Communism, Surveillance, a history of the Counter Intelligence Corp, maps, and Counter-Sabotage.

Joséphine Collomb was a nursing student in 1905 at the Maison-êcole d'infirmières privées, founded by Léonie Chaptal in 1905 with a class size of 24 students, in the Plaisance quarter of Paris. Collection comprises a nursing manuscript notebook (179 pages) maintained in French by Joséphine Collomb during her studies at the Maison-êcole d'infirmières privées. There are 175 pages of notes and 4 pages listing medical instruments. Topics of the notes include microbes, sterilization, operating in the countryside, a nurse's duties, suturing, dressing, antiseptics, dislocation, setting limbs, contusions, burns, epistaxis, blood disorders, hypodermic injections, morphine, caffeine and its uses, ether, serotherapy, fevers, cauterizing, prophylaxis for cholera, measles, typhoid, and tuberculosis, with an explanation of causes and treatments. The volume includes a color map of France with a table of Départements.

Courtland Cox (1941- ) is an African American civil rights activist, former member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and a manager and co-owner of Drum and Spear Bookstore in Washington, D.C. His papers consist of materials related to the Drum and Spear Bookstore and associated organizations, folders related to his tenure as the Secretary General of the Sixth Pan-African Congress in Tanzania, and subject files and audiovisual materias related to the civil rights movement in the South during the 1960s. Audiovisual materials consist largely of oral history interviews with veterans of the civil rights movement. Acquired as part of the John Hope Franklin Research Center for African and African American History and Culture.

Crauford Goodwin (1934-2017) was the James B. Duke Professor Emeritus of Economics and administrator at Duke University. This collection documents his professional life through his correspondence, writings, research, and professional and faculty activities. It forms part of the Economists' Papers Archive.

ALS from Long to the editor of The southern watchman, on the fictional character created by Long, Billy Muckly; a typescript of a poem by Mary McKinley Cobb, In memoriam, Dr. Crawford W. Long, discoverer of anaesthesia; and a photostat of James Venable's account with Long for the first half of 1842. The letter and the typescript are annotated by Long's daughter, Emma M.

Creasy Kinion Proctor (1889-1946) was a clergyman from Durham, North Carolina, a Trinity College alumnus and Duke University Trustee, and Superintendent of Oxford Orphanage from 1928 to 1946, the year he died. Collection consists chiefly of sermon outlines dating from the early 20th century, written by Creasy Kinion Proctor, a minister ordained by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, of North Carolina. There are also a few other papers included in the collection, including an index to sermon topics.
