Creighton Lacy has seved as a professor at Duke University Divinity School since 1953. The collection contains correspondence, reports, sermons, directories, memoranda, printed matter and clippings.

The Cronly family included Michael Cronly, Sr., auctioneer and real estate broker of Wilmington, N.C. and his wife, Margaret McLaurin Cronly and their nine children. Collection comprises correspondence, financial and legal papers, writings, bound volumes, clippings and other print materials, and photographs of teh Cronly family of Wilmington, N.C. Topics include auctioneering and real estate in Wilmington, N.C.; Wilmington social life and economic conditions; Civil War experiences; African American life and condtions during Reconstruction; the Wilmington, Charlotte and Rutherford Railway Company; railroad bonds; earthquake of 1886; and the Democratic Party and politics in North Carolina. Includes information on the Beatty, Cronly, McLaurin and Murphy families of North Carolina, and descriptions of Charleston (S.C.), Atlantic City (N.J.), Denver (Colorado), Genova (Italy), and the Hudson Fulton Celebration in New York City (1909). Of note is a detailed account of the Wilmington, N.C. 1898 insurrection and race massacre carried out by white supremacists, written by a woman in the Cronly family, possibly Margaret Cronly; the account is accompanied by a 6-page typed transcript.

The Sports Information Office provides information about Duke athletics to the media. They also facilitate press interviews with Duke athletes and coaches. The collection includes clippings, press releases, statistics, rosters, programs and press brochures/media guides about the cross country/track and field teams at Duke University. The material ranges in date from 1932-ongoing.

The Crowing Rooster Arts records contain original film, video, and audio resources as well as company records associated with Crowing Rooster Arts, a documentary and music production company focusing on Haiti's struggle for democracy and on labor, human rights, and immigration policy in Central America and the United States. Acquired as part of the Human Rights Archive.

A collection of letters to Eastman from civil engineer Charles Sloane; journalist and social reformer Paul Underwood Kellogg; drama critic Clayton Meeker Hamilton; Eastman's secondary school friend Ida Langdon; an unidentified friend, Summer Robinson, and various other people (including Eastman's sister, Dorothy). Includes a folder of poetry and literature sent to Eastman by unidentified correspondents. There are no letters by Eastman in the collection.

The Cuban Revolution Materials collection comprises assorted printed materials and serials publications regarding the Cuban Revolution of 1959, Fidel Castro's governance, and U.S. foreign policy in Cuba in the 1960s, especially the Bay of Pigs Invasion of April 1961. Committees and Organizations series contains assorted documents including leaflets, position statements, generated by pro-Cuba organizations based in major metropolitan areas, primarily New York City, in 1960 and 1961. Original sources are unknown; the collection was received as a transfer from the Duke University Library pamphlet collection.

Curtis Carroll Davis was a graduate student in English at Duke University from 1939-1947. The scrapbook includes correspondence, photographs, programs, invitations, telegrams, holiday cards and newspaper clippings accumulated during his early years as a doctoral student. It ranges in date from 1939-1942.

Author and medical doctor Cuthbert O. Simpkins (b. 1947) wrote the first biography of jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane (1926-1967), titled Coltrane: A Biography (Perth Amboy, NJ: Herndon House Publishers, 1975). The collection contains audio recordings of interviews Simpkins conducted with various family members, friends, and colleagues of Coltrane between 1971-1974 as a part of his research.
