Clippings include newspaper articles about Moore's life and career as a jazz musician. One folder is devoted entirely to clippings related to Moore's time performing with Louis Jordan, and another folder contains photocopies of materials from a notebook of personal contacts compiled by Moore. This series also includes several programs from Moore's performances in the Raleigh, NC area during the 1990s along with programs from Moore's commencement ceremony at Wake Technical Institute and programs from Moore's funeral. One folder primarily contains manuscript drafts of jazz lead sheets presumably written by Moore along with a small amount of published music by other composers. Miscellaneous items include Moore's certificates from Wake Technical Institute, documents concerning the repairs of Moore's home in Raleigh, NC, a calendar featuring Moore on the cover, and the plaque from Moore's funeral.

Contains newspapers, newsletter clippings, some oversize, pertaining to activities of and topics of concern for Rencher Nicholas Harris and his wife, Plassie Williams Harris, and associated items such as correspondence and election materials, particularly referring to voting as related to race.

The collection has been arranged into four series: Club History, Halcyon Members, Programs, and Club Administration. The Club History Series contains research and recollections by Halcyon members about the group's founding and early members. A large portion of this series is the Centennial Memory Notebook, created in 2011 in honor of the Halcyon Club's 100th anniversary. The series also includes handwritten and typed histories by club members from the 1930s through the 1990s.

Compiled by John David McGee, the Collection Information Series provides a detailed guide to using the McGee Family Papers. It includes lists and details of all series in the collection, background information on the family, a list of Baptist missionaries in Nigeria, and a thorough history of the Baptist Mission in Nigeria. The materials reflect both the 2011 and 2013 accessions.

An excellent catalog of American paper currency from its inception in 1686 to 1789 is Eric P. Newman's The Early Paper Money of America(Racine, Wisc., 1967). Newman noted the distinctiveness of this money: "The early paper money of America has the unique distinction of being the first paper money issued by any government in the Western World. No country, state, or colony in Europe had made a prior issue of publicly sponsored paper money."

The Comic Conventions and Events series includes materials from over fifty comic conventions that the Murray brothers held at their Durham home from the late 1960s through the mid 1980s. Included are photos of numerous "Mini-Cons", including black and white photos, color photos, and photo negatives. Also included are sign-up sheets which list participants for each event. The series also includes flyers and ephemera from other comic conventions in Durham and North Carolina dating from the 1960s through 2013.

Series consists of 34 phonodiscs, many of which were marketed to Black audiences as "race" records, a collecting interest of Randy Riddle.

Series includes files from a variety of different committees and councils related to the administration of Duke University. Committees are related to student housing, residential life, the environment, traffic, equal employment, affirmative action, physical education, athletics, business and finance, religious life, and other subjects.

The Committees and Organizations Series contains assorted materials collected in the early 1960s about the Cuban Revolution and the U.S.'s foreign policy with Cuba, especially the Bay of Pigs Invasion. The materials represent small portions of materials generated by these committees and organizations, presumably collected for student research. The series mostly consists of leaflets, event flyers, newsletters and correspondence, recruitment materials, and position statements. The organizations and committees represented in the series are sympathetic to the Cuban Revolution and critical of the U.S. engagement against Castro's government. Organizations from across the country including the Truth About Cuba Committee, the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, the Young Socialists Alliance, and the Non-Violent Committee for Cuban Independence are represented in the series, though most are central to New York City.

Materials are arranged alphabetically by folder title, followed by audiovisual and oversize material. Original folder titles were retained.

This series includes materials related to the history of the City of Durham, Civil Human Righst events, the Parrish Street project, and audio recordings.

Contains papers related to Watts's membership in churches and fraternal organizations, non-medically-related boards on which he served, his work with Durham, N.C. organizations, his interest in race relations, and honors awarded to him. Materials include photographs, correspondence, notes, programs, speeches, programs, clippings, print materials, and a commemorative plaque. Also included are the papers of Constance Watts (wife), Lyda Merrick (mother-in-law), and Margaret Smith (a nurse in his office). Of special interest are materials related to the Negro Braille Magazine (now the Merrick-Washington Magazine for the Blind), founded by Mrs. Merrick. Arranged alphabetically.

The Company and Biographical series contains images of choreographers, performing companies, ADF faculty members, ADF staff, and other individuals.

Arranged in the following subseries named after North Carolina Mutual departments and offices: Actuary, Agency in Force, Auditing, Controller, Corporate Planning, Executive Committee, Facilities, Medical Department, Office of the President, Public Relations, and Personnel Files (closed). There is also an oversize section at the end of each subseries or smaller subgrouping. The Office of the President Series holds the records from the following presidents: William J. Kennedy, Jr., Asa T. Spaulding, Sr., Joseph W. Goodloe, William J. Kennedy, III, and Bert Collins. Company office functions and spaces are also represented in other formats in the Exhibits, Photographic Material, Memorabilia and Artifacts, and Recordings Series.

Contains contracts, legal papers, tax reports, correspondence, minutes, blueprints, and catalogs relating to the United Cigarette Machine Company, and the company's properties in Virginia and Dresden, Germany.

Documents the founding and operation of the Company and is divided into the following categories: Company Manuals, Correspondence, Financial Records, Photographs, Printed Materials, Scrapbooks, and Writings.

Gedney's most ambitious early book project centered on portraits of fifty American composers. Beginning around 1965, Gedney wrote letters of introduction to dozens of notable composers, inquiring about their willingess to participate in his project. Several of these letters are found in the Correspondence Series. The names of those whose portraits are in the collection are too many to list here, but include Aaron Copland, Milton Babbitt, Samuel Barber, William Bergsma, John Cage, Leonard Bernstein, Lukas Foss, Kenneth Gaburo, Elliott Gould, Roy Harris, Lou Harrison, Ben Johnston, Salvatore Martirano, Giancarlo Menotti, Darius Milhaud, William Grant Still, and Henry Weinberg. Only one woman composer is included: Pauline Oliveros at Mills College, California.

Consists of manuscript scores and instrumental parts for works composed and arranged by Frank Foster, arranged into three subseries: Letter-Sized Materials, Legal-Sized Materials, and Oversized Materials. Within each subseries, manuscripts are organized alphabetically by title, where different versions and copies of the same composition are grouped together. Many manuscripts are undated. Collection includes hand-written manuscripts, photocopies, and manuscripts produced on a laser printer. Incomplete manuscripts, unidentified pages and fragments are filed in a separate group at the end of the Compositions by Others series.

Chiefly programs, articles, minutes, correspondence, and other materials from academic conferences McKenzie attended or helped organize, both domestically and abroad. Includes some bound volumes, mostly from the 1960s, with every paper given at a particular conference. The largest amount of material comes from the 1988 Value and Capital Conference, which includes correspondence with various contributors as well as paper manuscripts for publication. Some folders include materials from non-conference related activies that occurred while McKenzie attended conferences, chiefly concert programs, maps, receipts, travel plans, and other materials. Folders are organized chronologically by year (and month, when possible).

Conferences and Seminars consists of programs, correspondence, conference papers and abstracts, notes, memos, planning documents, reports, and survey responses. Most of the documents are from the Decentralization conferences and seminars spanning the years 1971-1996. Also included are a handful of conferences sponsored by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and National Science Foundation (NSF), such as the Conference on Decision Rules & Uncertainty, Conference-Seminar on the Theory of General Economic Equilibrium, Conference on Theoretical Industrial Organization, and the Seminar on Bayesian Inference in Econometrics. Arranged alphabetically by conference title, and chronologically by year within each conference.

Material related to conferences and workshops Freeman attended or led. There are course planning materials and student reports from his participation in the Environmental Economics Program for South East Asia (EEPSEA), as well as material from National Science Foundation (NSF) workshops and notes and minutes from meetings of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

This series documents de Bruyn's extensive research, scholarship, and teaching in the field of global health, particularly HIV/AIDS and human rights. Materials are arranged into subseries: Publications, including resource manuals and books by de Bruyn or including her contributions; Presentations, including copies of PowerPoints, transparencies, and notes; Articles, including notes and drafts; Reports, largely meeting reports or publications published by NGOs and other policy/advocacy groups; Conferences, including de Bruyn's notes on various sessions she attended, as well as conference materials and agendas; and Training/Workshops, which include handouts, instruction modules, manuals, audience feedback and participation, and other items from various events de Bruyn helped lead or organize. The majority of these subseries are arranged alphabetically; Conferences are arranged chronologically by conference date.

Series consists of black and white contact sheets representing the work of photojournalists at PACE magazine. Arrnagement is in numerical order by volume number of publication. The order is the same as in the index spreadsheet, which is available in paper form in Box 1. The index briefly describes the image or the topic.

The materials in this series include numbered case files related to patent applications, although this run of case files is not complete. All case files submitted were numbered consecutively and also given a code derived from the patent application submitter's name and sequence of individual applications. Additional case files may be found in Accession UA2014.0082 which may be missing from this consecutive list.
