Consumer Reports is a product testing and consumer advocacy nonprofit organization based in Yonkers, N.Y., founded in 1936 as Consumers Union. Marketing and Circulation records include budget reports, clippings, correspondence, mailings, planning and research reports and other printed materials that document Consumers Union's efforts to promote its publications primarily through direct-to-consumer advertising, subscription, and subscription renewal campaigns. Correspondents include Consumers Union executives such as Colston Warne, Jonathan Leff, Sidney Shainwald, and Walker Sandbach; as well as consultants, periodical distribution firms, and subscription service providers.
