George Orick has asked this man to join his studio, and man is asking Smith for advice. Smith mentions receiving bitter letters from Emily and Orick. Man says check out the thing I did on negro jews. Smith says the first "stumbling" essay he did was on that. Probably Ted Runge replaces Smith on phone. Ted is said to be prej. against Orick.Ted tells man to stay by himself.
