Glenn Wellington Dobbs was an executive and sales manager for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Winston-Salem, N.C. Collection includes advertisements, clippings, examples of cigarette packaging, newsletters, photographs, speech materials and other items that document Dobbs's career as a sales manager for R.J. Reynolds. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History.

Global Rights is an international human rights advocacy organization headquartered in Washington D.C. The Global Rights Records span the dates 1980-2006 and consist of correspondence, administrative, research and project files, and printed material related to the work of Global Rights (known before 2003 as the International Human Rights Law Group - IHRLG), a human rights advocacy organization based in Washington D.C. Material in this collection documents human rights abuses in various contexts while also providing insight into the complex administrative issues facing nongovernmental organizations working to curb those violations. The collection is divided into series for Administrative Files, Country Files, Printed Material, and Project Files. The Administrative Files Series contains records of meetings of the board of directors of Global Rights, executive correspondence, and training material for human rights advocates. Material in the Country Files Series documents Global Right's activities in specific countries, generally concentrated in Africa, East Asia, and Latin America. Files on human rights and social conditions in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Hercegovina, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Zaire are among the most extensive in the series but other countries are also represented. The Printed Material Series chiefly consists of articles and speeches by IHRLG/Global Rights staff, and reports by the IHRLG on human rights in many countries. Various issue-based advocacy efforts chronicled in the Project Files Series complete the collection. Activities documented in this series include increasing legal infrastructure in Cambodia through the Cambodian Defenders Project; advocating for women's rights (economic and sexual) and targeting sexual slavery and human trafficking; and targeting racial discrimination in the U.S. and abroad. An extensive set of project files relates to advocacy for the ratification of human rights treaties, and documents several international meetings such as UN's Meeting of the States Parties to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Meeting of the States Parties to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (1980).

Collection consists of student projects created through the Duke University course GLHLTH 302: Narratives of Living with HIV/AIDS, taught by Professor Kearsley Stewart in 2016 and 2017.

Gloria Bowen McCoy attended Duke University from 1944-1946. The collection includes a scrapbook, class notes, photographs, and memorabilia of her time at Duke.

The Sports Information Office provides information about Duke athletics to the media. They also facilitate press interviews with Duke athletes and coaches. The collection includes clippings, press releases, statistics, rosters, programs and press brochures/media guides about the men and women's golf team at Duke University. The material ranges in date from 1933-ongoing.

The Goodrich and Baker families hailed from Maine, New Hampshire, Iowa and Illinois. Collection comprises letters, with a few other items, mostly to and from members and friends of the Baker and Goodrich families of Maine, New Hampshire, Iowa and Illinois, chiefly in the 19th century. Included are letters to Union soldiers and letters from Turkey and India in the 1870s and 1880s.

The Gotham Inc. advertising agency was established by the Interpublic Group in 1994 as an independent agency of the global marketing services holding company. Gotham Inc. is one of New York's leading integrated communication agencies. The Gotham Inc. Records contain primarily video and print advertisements created for clients by Gotham's predecessor companies Daniel & Charles and Laurence, and Charles, Free & Lawson. The materials span 1967-1997 and include videocassettes, slides, magazine and newspaper advertisements, and memorabilia as well as agency brochures and limited general information. Clients represented in the collection include: Bristol-Myers (Ban, Bufferin, Comtrex); Clairol (Herbal Essence, Infusium); Dial; Drackett (Endust, Renuzit, Vanish); GAF Corporation; Ross Laboratories (Ensure, Selsun Blue); Thompson Medical (Cortizone, Dexatrim); and American Home Food Products. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History.

Ezra Caryl Brownell, of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey was a banker with the Bank of New York. In 1918 he was made manager of the Tientsin, China branch of the Asia Banking Corporation and was charged with oversight of the bank's opening. He travelled to China in April 1918 with his wife Grace Donald Brownell of Butler, New Jersey. The couple lived in Shanghai and Tientsin, returning to the United States in March 1921. Chiefly letters of Grace Donald Brownell to family members and family friends in New Jersey. Letters of Ezra Carly Brownell are scattered throughout the collection. The letters touch on myriad topics including familial events and happenings in New Jersey; observations of Chinese and Japanese customs and culture; current affairs in China, the United States, and the world; as well as the couples' travels, routines, and other activities in China.

Grace Walcott Hazard Conkling was an American author, a poet and an English professor. Collection comprises two letters written to Conkling. The first was written by Florence Converse at the Atlantic Monthly, dated 1918 October 19, in regard to the publishing of Conkling's poem, "Names," in the magazine. The second was written by Elisabeth Cutting at the North American Review, dated 1925 June 22, asking Conkling to be a book reviewer, and mentioning Amy Lowell in association with a speech Conkling made.

Grace Mott Johnson was a white American artist and sculptor in the early 20th century. This collection contains letters to Johnson from her family, including her son Alfred Dasburg, and others in the artist community. Acquired as part of the Lisa Unger Baskin Collection at Duke University.

The Graduate and Professional Student Council aims to represent the social and academic interests of graduate students to the Duke University community. The Council was previously known as the Graduate Student Association. Records contain correspondence, minutes, constitutions, notes, membership lists, questionnaires, financial records, newsletters, and guidebooks. Major subjects include Graduate and Professional Student Council, Duke University student life, the Graduate School at Duke University, student organizations, Terry Sanford, student participation in administration, student housing, and tuition costs. Materials range in date from 1968 to 2017 (bulk 1968-1976 and 2013-2017).

The Duke Graduate Liberal Studies program was founded in 1984, under director Bonnie E. Erickson. The program grants a Master of Arts in Liberal studies (MALS) and is sometimes referred to as the MALS program. The materials include programs, curriculum development, faculty folders, photographs, slides, and correspondence.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Duke University was formally established in 1926, although some graduate instruction had been offered previously at Trinity College and Duke University. In 1968 the name was shortened to the Graduate School. Collection includes student records, admission applications, correspondence, dissertation abstracts, brochures, memoranda, newsletters, minutes, financial records, grant records, statistics, and other material generated by the Graduate School. Some individuals featured within the collection include William Glasson, Paul Gross, John McKinney, and Richard Predmore.

Arthur Barden Graham was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, of New Bern, N.C. The collection consists of correspondence, reports, speeches, notes, drafts of bills, printed material, and clippings, mostly relating to Barden's work on various House committees, including Education, Labor, Library, and Rivers and Harbors. Major topics include the draft, military installations including Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and Camp Lejeune Marine Base, veterans' affairs, and local affairs and projects of Barden's largely rural district, such as lumbering, tobacco processing, and furniture manufacturing.
