The series includes collected works lists and classifications compiled by both Ward and others; drafts and proofs of Ward's autobiography; biographical profiles, newspaper clippings, assorted event photographs, professional headshots of Ward, and conference and concert programs from throughout his career; details of publishing contracts and commissions for new music; and other publications on his music by Ward himself. Includes documents from the various organizations with which Ward affiliated, including: the Academy of Arts and Letters, the American Musical Theater Project, Friends of the American Musical Theatre, Durham Arts Council, Triangle Opera Theater, Opera Company of North Carolina, and cultural trips to Guatemala and Japan as part of the United States Friendship Commission.
