Caviness Hector Brown was a law student at Trinity College from 1919 to 1921. The scrapbook includes autograph pages, photographs, clippings and memorabilia related to Trinity College arts and athletic events, the Debating Club and North Carolina state elections.

Scope and content:

Contains photographs, news clippings, notes, event programs and memorabilia relating to Trinity College and other subject matter from 1918-1921.

Biographical / historical:

Caviness Hector Brown was a student in the Trinity College Law School from 1919-1921. During that time, he was active in university athletics, and pitched for Trinity's baseball team. He also participated in the debate team and the Glee Club and helped to found the Page for Governor Club, of which he was president. He graduated from the Law School in 1921.

Acquisition information:
The Caviness Hector Brown scrapbook was received by the University Archives as a gift in 1994.

Arrangement:

The photographs were included in a 39-page scrapbook created by Caviness Hector Brown. The pages were originally string-bound in a patent scrapbook published by the College Memorabilia Company, with the Trinity College seal on the cover. They were later stapled into small packets, grouped loosely by subject.
