Architectual Drawings

Scope and content:

Includes original architectural drawings of campus buildings from the Horace Trumbauer Firm, for which Julian Abele, an African American architect, was the chief designer. Drawings depict floor plans, elevations, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and other aspects of building design and construction. These drawings were the reference copies kept by the Facilities Management Department, were heavily used, and may be in fragile condition.

Access restricted. Some materials in this collection are Duke University administrative materials. For a period of twenty-five years from the origin of the material, permission in writing from the office of origin and the University Archivist is required for use of administrative records. After twenty-five years, records that have been processed may be consulted with the permission of the University Archivist. Contact Research Services for more information.
