The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Duke is a non-degree-granting program for adults. OLLI at Duke began in 1977 as the Duke Institute for Learning in Retirement (DILR), a joint venture between Duke Continuing Studies and the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. When the Bernard Osher Foundation made a significant gift in 2006, DILR was renamed the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and joined the national network of 125 university-based OLLI programs.
